Join me inside my Maine coastal cottage for a cozy seaside holiday tour, from the mudroom and snug to the living spaces, kitchen, and bedrooms.

This is it — my last blog post of the holiday season… and of the year!

On Monday I’ll be making the drive to Maryland to soak up all the blessings of time with family. I’m ready!

The decorating is done, the presents are purchased (we don’t wrap until Christmas Eve day…), and I even had time this year to bake a few of my kids’ favorite Christmas cookies.

All that’s left is to welcome you in for a little holiday home tour.

Over the past few weeks I’ve shared how I chose and decorated my new downsized living room tree, added greenery, pinecones, and flannel to the dining area for a simple Maine feel, and created a Ralph-Lauren-Christmas–inspired coastal New England mantel. We’ve talked about cozy winter layers on the bed and the bedroom tree that holds so many memories.

Today, I’m putting it all together for you — plus a few spaces you haven’t seen yet.

So grab a warm beverage (maybe that London Fog tea drink I shared a couple weeks ago) and meet me at the front door, festively adorned with lobster buoy decor and fresh greenery!

When you step through the front door, your eye is immediately drawn straight out to the harbor — with Maddie greeting you from her favorite fireside seat.

To the left is the mudroom, ready for a winter full of boots, warm jackets, and snowy dogs. It and the big sideboard in the front hall that holds my mom’s antique blue-and-white transferware are both lightly dressed for the season, creating an understated but warm welcome.

As you enter the living room, the big stone fireplace is directly to your right. This year I had such fun decorating it with a classic coastal New England feel — lush greenery, jute rope, nautical lanterns, and an antique ship diorama.

My signature pinecone tree is smaller this year, but it still twinkles warmly in the opposite corner. Touches of green in the pillows, throw blanket, and coffee table decor create a quietly festive feel.

The dining area, on the other side of the stone fireplace, with its displays of blue-and-white pottery, is a love story to that palette throughout the year. This season, I kept things simple with faux juniper greenery (blue berries!), pinecones, bottle-brush trees, and bows fashioned from blue plaid flannel — a subtle nod to Maine’s favorite winter fabric.

My kitchen is a working one, open to the dining area, so it doesn’t get a lot of holiday decorations. This year I added a bit of greenery to a fish pitcher and called it a day. Really, though, the sweet scent of Christmas cookies in the oven provides plenty of warmth and cheer.

The snug, just off the living room, with its bright blue walls subbing in for a water view, is my favorite spot to curl up during long winter nights. This year it got a glow-up — literally — with the addition of the little Maine-themed tree I moved down from the guest cottage. From my perch on the sofa, I can now enjoy both this tree and the living room one!

My bedroom is home to the most meaningful tree — the one that holds all our family memories, with ornaments collected over the years. Snuggling into bed beneath layers of flannel sheets, cashmere, and a homey quilt in deep, wintery shades, the tree casting its warm glow, is the best end to the day.

Even though I’ll be traveling for the holiday this year, I still dressed the guest beds in flannel sheets and warm layers — ready for any winter drop-ins. A few small holiday touches spark a little joy when I pass by or hop on the Peloton.

If you’d like to dive deeper into the details behind this year’s holiday decorating, here are the posts where I shared each space more fully:

Getting this post ready for publication tomorrow has felt like a race against the weather. We’re in the midst of a storm — rain, not snow unfortunately — with strong, gusting winds. I’m snug inside with lentil soup and plenty of Christmas cookies to sustain me while Mother Nature howls and slams against the house, even sending some of my deck furniture flying. We’ve lost power and internet twice, and I’m hoping the next outage waits until after I hit “publish”!

So, in the interest of getting this to you at its regularly scheduled time, I’ll sign off here.

I’ve so enjoyed sharing my holiday home with you. Moments like these with you each week have been one of the true joys of my year, and I’m grateful for every visit, comment, and kind word. Thank you for being part of this warm little community.

Wishing you the very best of the season, from my seaside cottage to your home.

See you in 2026!

Until then, be well.

Molly
