I’m Molly

Welcome to Maine. I’m Molly — a retired federal employee, mother of three grown children, and Mim to three (soon to be four) delightful grandchildren.

In 2018, I retired from my career with the federal government and left the D.C. rat race for a small fishing village on the coast of Maine. I like to say I bought a view with two rundown cottages. What followed were years of renovation, a new build, and what has felt like endless landscaping — all part of creating a home that reflects a slower, more intentional way of living.
I love coastal style, homemade food, the color blue, home decor that tells a story, casual living, family time, Springer Spaniels, a good romcom, getting outside on my bike or in my kayak, James Taylor, and watching the tide change outside my windows. I’m a vegetarian, collector, introvert, creative, Peloton enthusiast, novice gardener, night owl, and not-very-good Leo.
For the past several years, I’ve been sharing life in Maine here on the blog and on Instagram — from home and seasonal living to time in the kitchen, antique and vintage finds, creative projects, and days spent exploring the coast and beyond. People often tell me that my home feels “cozy” and “welcoming,” and that it looks like a place where they’d like to sit down, enjoy the view, and chat for a while.
So please, come in. Have a seat. Enjoy the view.
Maddie, Cisco, and I are so happy you’ve joined us.
